The promoters of the Company have a solid track record on the CSR front at their plant located at Gujarat state in Western India by means of Creation of green revolution in the desert of Kutch region by cultivating land for growing fruits, vegetables & flowers, organically, spread over around 150 acres, Providing educational facilities through a CBSE affiliated School, Providing hospitals and first aid facilities within few hundred kilometers, Conducting social awareness programmes on various issues, Direct as well as Indirect generation of income source for the villagers surrounding the plant. This plant is the first to be set up in the backward district of Kutch and continuous efforts to reduce green house effect on environment by adopting Clean Development Mechanism is a part of ongoing practices.

Continuing the CSR at this Kenya Plant, Cemtech is committed to :

  • Support the Government of Kenya vision 2030 objectives in infrastructure growth and other developments, make available cheaper cement and increase installed capacity in Kenya by 1 million tonne per annum.
  • Kick-start large scale industrial development at Pokot - the New Frontier region of Kenya
  • Electricity generated from the planned Power Plant (15 MW) would reduce the installed capacity gap
  • Create employment by providing approximately 568 jobs, and in addition support indirect job creation in Pokot region due to the large scale project activities.
  • Generate revenue for the Government from VAT , Export Revenue & corporate taxes.
  • To set up a residential complex, low cost housing, schools and amenities to benefit the employees and the community.


The company has already undertaken CSR related activities in the region by the means of donating Ksh 50000/- each to 10 (ten) schools near the plant site. The company has also donated Ksh. 200,000/- to the limestone committee. Company has promised to construct two dormitories at the Sebit primary school, one for boys and one for girls at an estimated budget of Ksh. 15,00,000/-. Further, a committee has also been formed among local community and councilors to attend the problems of local population and decide the priority for their community projects.
